First and fore most, is FIDA a women Related Organization? Does the firm handle only women cases? Is there no form of Bias when handling these issues since the people involved are all women? What is the best advice FIDA can give me after reading the story below: Am a male 31, Married I could say but not officially and traditionally? I have a Wife, 2 Children and am fathering another outside my Marriage though not involved with the mother any more. Due to the economic crisis, we’ve been facing financial mishaps in the family but managed to cope all the way. Prior to all this, I was a happily married man till my wife had to get a job upcountry and that’s when I happened to get another child which am sorry to say was a big mistake of my life. My wife didn't know about this but I happened to be forced into admitting that I had another child in front of her and a Fortune teller she had taken me to Visit. How did this come about? It all started the day my wife lost her Job, several problems befell us and my daughter was falling sick now and again. Well after numerous consultations as said by my wife, she discovered that it was my very Mother sending superstitious demons to attack her and my daughter. When I asked why she thought she would do such a thing especially after introducing her to my mother as my wife? she laid the reasons as follows: That my mother doubted whether I fathered the child I call my daughter, that she also wanted the house I built with my wife, and also wanted me to leave my wife and get married to another lady she preferred was better for me. At first I doubted all this but I told my wife I was on her side all the way that’s why she had to take me to all these sources to hear the words all by my ears. I told her if that was so then I was going to confront her, something I was refused to do by both my Father who separated from her years ago and by friends and my wife. So I also kept mum about the whole issue, pretended that everything is ok even when I visited my mother I didn’t show any signs of discontent. my daughter kept on getting sick, like I said before we were down financially. So generally things have not been moving our way. We tried going to traditional healers who helped but after some time she would fall sick again. Our marriage now is falling apart to the extent that we don’t see eye to eye with my wife for the past 4 months. am not cheating on my wife but I do work day and night in due honesty to try and raise resources that can sustain the family. My main problem came this last week when my step brother came home to request me for soccer boots who I told didn’t fit him. So I went on to look for them but failed to get the other pair. Then he left mysteriously, on asking my wife, she told me he had left. Then the next day she said he had brought black magic at home I did not what to point fingers so I left it at that. What I should have told you from the very beginning is that during the time she was working upcountry, we both had money but she had an extended muscle of funds on her. so we undertook to a building project which meant that we were going to construct 2in one self contained houses to enable us plan for the children’s future. Literally we would stay in one and then rent the other. I managed to sight a plot in Lweza which suited well commercially as per our plans and we bought the land my mother being a witness plus other people. (My mother stays in the same region but different locations and our plans were to stay there temporarily until we build a home.) That time relations had not soured, so both I and my wife were legitimate owners. We then started constructing with her not being around I took the responsibility of the work on ground and she undertook to basically bankroll the project of course knowing how she was acquiring the funds, that is classified. I handled the project well and by the time she lost her job we had settled fully in the house. She now wants all the property reverted to her names. I haven't responded back but I now seek you guidance on the issue. She sent a very provocative message to my mother telling her that she is the sole owner of the house and that she should look after me her son. I have not been involved in any form of attacks on her I simply keep quiet even when she insults me. What Should I Do FIDA? am facing a similar problem.
