Secretariat

FIDA Uganda’s Secretariat is an extremely hard working, unstoppable team. The members of our Secretariat work tirelessly, often late into the night, because they are passionate about the role of FIDA Uganda in improving the lot of women in Uganda. Working at FIDA Uganda has been a really changing experience in my life. Just by welcoming a lady with a smile and being ready to listen to her without interrupting changes a lady’s day, and the world that seemed so dull brightens up suddenly and the fears are gone. Hearing her say “thanks” changes everything and refills all the spent spirits. That’s what I love about FIDA Uganda – changing a woman’s life in whatever way that makes a difference and seeing her leave FIDA Uganda a happier person gives me the passion to work each and every single day. FIDA Uganda big ups! I wish FIDA Uganda an eternity in Uganda. The work FIDA does is simply irreplaceable.

Ms. Robinah Namatovu (Legal Associate)

I never imagined I would be a strong and courageous woman.

I am who I am today, thanks to the comprehensive training, exposure and invaluable experience I have gained at FIDA Uganda.

I have served FIDA Uganda for now a year and I have no regrets. It’s the place to be! It was established for a right cause; defending the rights of the vulnerable, especially women and children, and resolving their problems. It feels so good when a woman’s tear is washed away after her problem has been amicably settled through FIDA Uganda.

The experience gained from FIDA Uganda, especially in handling maintenance cases, land disputes, marital related problems, and the many other related issues that come up gives me a lot of hope that any woman with related problems can experience a change and live happily.

Long live FIDA Uganda!

- Ms. Robinah Namatovu
